The Comparison of Siwak and Toothpaste with Fluoride

Background
The mouth is the main door to the organs in the body. Various hazards can have on the system or organs, both the upper respiratory system, lungs, or digestive system, if your mouth susceptible to interference. More than that, the nervous system associated with the teeth and facial regions becomes very vital for humans because that part is the closest to the central nervous system. Therefore, the pain it caused quite extraordinary. From here, we can know how much Rasulullah’s attention to the problem of  keeping oral hygiene.
Various modern research confirms that the bacteria that nestle in the dirt coating the teeth are always changing shape and number. The trick which is stick to the tooth is also changed so it caused stronger and malignant. The effects are focus on all the soft tissue (gums) and hard tissue (teeth). As a result, various problems emerge to the teeth and mouth. Therefore, to prevent the growth of bacteria on the teeth and mouth, we are encouraged to do maintenance, Such as brushing your teeth.
Since the past, humans have the awareness to brush his teeth, this is proved by the discovery of animal bones that the edges attached by sea urchins. In the other hemisphere precisely in the eastern hemisphere, people brushing their teeth with the roots of plants, which now often called siwak.
Although age have changed a lot,  both models are still used, but the use of animal bone has been transformed into a form that is more interesting use of materials over the net. In general use of plastic materials is known as a toothbrush. However, the use of toothbrush have to combine with toothpaste to produce better results because the greatest role in cleaning the teeth is toothpaste.Toothpaste made from a variety of chemicals that have a role to kill bacteria on the teeth. The packaging is quite simple, which is in the tubes and has different sizes.
Unlike a toothbrush and toothpaste,  from a long time ago until now siwak is still in the same shape. there are many substances that work to care for teeth and mouth in this stem wood. So it’s simpler and more effective. In this paper, we discuss about the comparison between siwak and toothpaste in a role for dental health.
The scope of this paper is discussions about the comparison between siwak and toothpaste which is containing fluoride.
The purposes of this is to know how comparison of siwak and toothpaste with fluoride is and what advantages and disadvantages of using siwak and toothpaste with fluoride is.
In this paper, the author states that siwak more effective for maintaining dental health than toothpaste with fluoride.

                       Problems
1.      What are the dental and oral health problems?
2.      What are the advantages and disadvantages of using siwak and toothpaste with fluoride?

                      Discussions
A.                Dental and oral health problems
Overall, dental and oral health problems include bad breath, plaque and tartar, toothache, canker sores, gingivitis, and xerostomia.
1.                  Mouth Odor

Persistent bad breath can cause a person to be insecure and could be a sign of a disease, like diabetes, heart disease, kidney failure, liver, digestive disorders, and others. In addition, bad breath can also be generated from the hole on teeth, the remaining food in the mouth, caries and others.
The signs of bad breath is usually caused by disturbance of the balance of the mouth acids, such as salivary flow thick, dry mouth, and taste are not comfortable talking.
2.                  Dental Plaque and Crag

Tartar (Calculus) is a collection of plaques that attach to the tooth surface. Based on its location, the reef is in supragingiva teeth (gums above the tooth surface) and in subgingiva (tooth surface under the gums). Crag teeth mainly occur in areas difficult to clean teeth.
Reefs are formed starting from the accumulation of dental plaque attached to the tooth surface is not lifted or when brushing their teeth cleaned, mixed with saliva and harden. If it is formed of coral, hard to clean yourself with just brushing my teeth. Strong inherent tartar on the teeth can only be cleaned with the help of special tools such as the scaler, either manual or ultrasonic, which can be obtained from dental clinics. Crag own teeth can cause gum inflammation resulting from bacterial toxins that stimulate gums Continuous constantly. When the left will cause the tooth is wobbly and eventually date. How to prevent the formation of tartar is quite simple, with a diligent and thorough cleaning of the teeth, well and properly. Consumption of foods that contain lots of fiber and water also proved to be more healthy teeth than foods that are sticky, and many contain sugar.

This disease occurs when plaque starts that are not cleaned. Mengiritasikan regularly can then open the gums and the gums become red and bleed easily. If you let the gums will swell and cause a rocking gear and the date itself.
6.                  Xerostomia

Xerostomia is a state of mouth dry due to production gland saliva is reduced. Impaired salivary gland production may be caused by disturbances or diseases at the center of saliva, saliva or nerve stimulation to any carrier by the change in composition of saliva electrolyte physiology. The above disorders may occur due to fear or worrydepressionbrain tumors, certaindrugs, and diabetes

B.    Siwak
Sections used for siwak is the core roots. How to use it is to be dried and then stored in a dry place and not damp. Before use, the tip of the root is pounded and mashed beforehand with a sharp tool, and then used. It could also, if it is dry, soaked in water then used to bersiwak. If the probe used has been used for five days, soggy and fall apart, then the end is cut so that a new tip that will be used, and so on.If the skin exfoliated, somewhat whitish color and has a large cascade of fiber. Brown roots and the inside is white, smells like celery and it felt a little bit spicy.

Siwak contain useful chemicals, such as:
1.      Antibacterial acids, such as astringents, abrasives and detergents that serves to kill bacteria, prevent infection and stop the bleeding of the gums.
2.      Vitamin C and sterol substances. Both these compositions have an important role in strengthening capillary vessels that supply the gums so that the amount of blood supplied to meet the gums. Moreover, vitamin C also has the function of preventing inflammation of the gums.
3.      Resin content of substances that can be used to strengthen the gums.
4.      Chemical content such as chloride and silica content that can be made whiter teeth.
